Johnny's tattoo Together Forever is now useful cyberware
Instead of merely hogging a valuable cyberware slot, the "other one" is now a proper, tiered hand cyberware!
查看大图If you choose Together Forever, you won't get any relevant in-game benefit except roleplay sentimental. In vanilla, this tattoo acts as the most basic smart link and cannot be upgraded in the same manner as Wakako's gift.
(To my knowledge, Billy Goat has the same "problem", but I've never used it.)
So if you choose to keep the J+V tattoo equipped, it will take up a cyberware slot where you can otherwise put something much more useful - which is kinda important for gameplay, especially on higher difficulties.
Therefore, I have spent hours (cough days cough) on turning this tattoo into an upgradeable hand cyberware, in my own vision unique to Johnny's personality... and his intoxicated affection for V at the time of the tattoo's making.
Since Johnny's signature weapon and fighting style are power/solo based, I figured he'd prefer to impart some of it on V, which is why I have turned the tattoo into a modified Ballistic Coprocessor.
And by "modified" I mean the following:
- Carry Weight bonus is replaced with general Crit Chance - meaning it adds Crit Chance to every type of attack. It influences quickhacks as well only if you have the relevant perk.
- Ricochet Damage bonus is replaced with Explosion Damage bonus. It adds this bonus to every type of explosion you trigger.
I did this because, again, I was trying to follow Johnny's mindset.
I don't think he'd bother with increasing ricochet damage... but would definitely prefer enhancing explosions, lol.
I hope that ditching Carry Weight in favor of Crit Chance is self-explanatory.
I chose to make trade-ins instead of just adding stats, for the sake of balance.
Other features:
- Vanilla Ballistic Coprocessor feats: Ricochets and their preview with Power Weapons, Reload Speed and Aim Speed bonuses depending on active perks.
- Humanity cost will always remain 0. First, this is a specialty of Cassius Ryder, as he did the same thing with the Tyger Claws Dermal Imprint that Wakako gives you. And second, even though Johnny went off the handle that one night, he insisted to not strain your body even more than he already does, which is why he got this tattoo done by Cassius in the first place (that's my head canon at least).
- The tattoo has no monetary value. It's a gift, so. (And how did Johnny pay for it in the first place? We'll never know. It's Johnny.)
- The tattoo is Tech Attribute Attuned just like Ballistic Coprocessor. I kept this type of attunement because Tech Ability is required by every build and is generally the most useful.
- You will not see Ballistic Coprocessor physical component of this cyberware on V's palm, just the tattoo on the forearm is visible. This is handy if you want your secondary hand cyberware to be a Smart Link, for example, since it will show on the palm and the tattoo will remain as well.
Overall, I did my best to make these changes seem like it was supposed to be like this in vanilla. Let me know if I had succeeded.
Important:
Your progression will significantly influence the values of stats. Refer to images for examples.
The perk Chipware Connoisseur randomizes secondary and tertiary cyberware stats. If you choose to do so when you upgrade to a higher tier, the value of the tattoo will become €$1. This is the game mechanic of this perk.
Installation instructions
As usual, either use a mod manager (recommended method) or unpack the mod into your game directory.
It is preferable to install the mod BEFORE you get the tattoo, because the stats usually don't take if you already have it.
If you are installing the mod while you already have the tattoo, you can use CET console to spawn it in your inventory:
Game.AddToInventory("Items.AdvancedSilverhandTattoo",1)
This is Common tier, and also vanilla item code for this tattoo. It is recommended to get only this one for regular gameplay, and then upgrade it at the ripperdoc's as you would any other cyberware.
The rest below are tiered upgrades added by me, which in vanilla don't exist. You can add any/all of them for the sake of testing, or in case you don't want to bother with upgrading. Remember though that relevant perks which enhance cyberware don't work retroactively if you don't already have them active when you get a certain tier.

Game.AddToInventory("Items.AdvancedSilverhandTattooLegendaryPlus",1)

The spawned Common variant won't replace the vanilla one, so you are free to sell it.
Uninstalling the mod is basically installation in reverse. Unequip the tattoo and save. Then remove the mod files from your game. If you want the vanilla tattoo back (if the values don't revert), spawn it by using the console.
The mod doesn't conflict with mods that change the appearance of the tattoo. The appearance is intact, only the functionality is changed (enhanced).
Requirements
This is a tweak, not an archive, so load order doesn't matter. It relies on TweakXL to work, in the coding sense it's virtually weightless and very straightforward. I made the mod primarily for myself, and I prefer to be economical with processes because my rig is rather mid.
