Cinematic Immunity

Cinematic Immunity

This mod will grant you temporary immunity to go through parts of the game that are meant to be cinematic. Are you sick and tired of getting killed that those Arasaka goons on their bike every single time you need to go from Act 1 to Act 2? So am I.

OVERVIEW

Cinematic Immunity automatically grants full invulnerability (gameGodModeType.Invulnerable) whenever the game enters a scripted cinematic or story sequence. The moment the scene ends, immunity is removed and normal gameplay resumes. No console commands, no manual toggling - it just works.

The mod uses a lightweight polling heartbeat (every 5 seconds) that checks quest facts and the player's controlled character record to detect scene boundaries accurately.

WHY THIS MOD EXISTS

Several story sequences leave V technically controllable but unable to meaningfully react to threats - the Act 1 → Act 2 car chases, Johnny possession moments, braindance sessions, and others. On harder difficulties or with combat-overhaul mods installed, stray enemies or world damage during these windows can kill you and force a reload. This mod prevents that.

It is meant for people who have played and survived these scenes before, and just want to go through unskippable parts to get on with the game itself.

Each window below can be toggled independently in the Mod Settings menu.

✅Scenarios with this checkmark have been tested and confirmed as 'invulnerable'.

Install manually or with a mod manager (Vortex / MO2).
Drop the r6/ folder into your Cyberpunk 2077 game directory.

CONFIGURATION

Open Main Menu → Mod Settings → CINEMATIC IMMUNITY.

Every scene window has its own toggle. The master Enable mod switch disables all immunity at once without uninstalling. Settings take effect immediately - no save reload needed.

COMPATIBILITY

The mod only reads game state (quest facts, blackboard, status effects) and applies/removes a single god-mode status effect. It does not replace or wrap any game functions. It should be compatible with virtually any other mod.

There is a built-in compatibility with Conditional Reshade Optics where active immunity is visualized with a cinematic bands/border effect.

NOTES
[]The 5-second polling interval means immunity kicks in within a couple of seconds of a scene starting, not instantaneously. This is intentional to keep performance overhead minimal.[/]
[]If the mod is disabled mid-scene while immunity is active, it will clean up and remove the effect before stopping.[/]
